Self-awareness. Healing. Growth.

Self-awareness, healing and growth help us make sense of the things that happen and to move forward with openness and confidence.

Welcome to Sourcepoint Counseling with Carolyn Davis Ed.D., LPC-IT offering counseling, life coaching and psychotherapy services. My approach emphasizes strengths, values, and a growth framework for alleviating human suffering. The power to heal is within each one of us, both innate and relational--recovery and learning are nurtured and strengthened within a caring, respectful, trusting therapeutic relationship.

There are a variety of issues and circumstances which might bring you to counseling. The positive outcomes of therapy and coaching can significantly improve many dimensions of your life. Most of us have had difficult things happen which caused pain, hurt and confusion.  When these experiences are internalized and left unresolved, our thoughts and memories create a filter through which we see life and this often leads to self-sabotage and conflict in our relationships. Negative self-talk and unhealthy behaviors develop into ingrained patterns and they can show up in many different forms such as stress, anxiety, depression, anger, isolation, addiction, and communication issues.

Relief from your most urgent concerns is the utmost priority. As things unfold through the counseling process you'll learn to release unhealthy patterns, develop new ways of being, and create a connection with what's genuine and essential in you, all of which brings greater ease and fulfillment in life.

“To understand the whole, it is necessary to understand the parts. To understand the parts, it is necessary to understand the whole. Such is the circle of understanding. We move from part to whole and back again, and in that dance of comprehension, in that amazing circle of understanding, we come alive to meaning, to value, and to vision: the very circle of understanding guides our way, weaving together the pieces, healing the fractures, mending the torn and tortured fragments, lighting the way ahead—this extraordinary movement from part to whole and back again, with healing the hallmark of each and every step, and grace the tender reward.”
